Admissions

Additional guidance for Parents and Carers is available HERE.

If you are considering Tickford Park Primary School for your child, please refer to the admissions criteria below, all admissions, including in-year applications, are made through the Council web site at Milton Keynes Council Admissions.

Tickford Park Primary School has a published admission number of 480 (based on the admission of up to 50 children to Reception classes each year).  The additional admissions at Year 3 is 16.

The school will accept all children with an EHC plan that names Tickford Park Primary School within it. In the event there are more applications than places available, applications will be ranked as follows:

  1. Looked After Children and all Previously Looked After Children, including those who appear (to the admissions authority) to have been in state care outside England and ceased to be in state care as a result of being adopted.
  2. Children living in the defined area: Newport Pagnell east of River Ouzel/Lovat, bounded on the west by Marsh End Road. Moulsoe.
  3. Children transferring at the end of KS1, the defined area also includes: North Crawley • Sherington • Stoke Goldington • Gayhurst
  4. Children who live outside the area with brothers or sisters who will be in attendance at the time of admission.
  5. Children who attend the River Meadow Preschool.
  6. Children who live outside the defined area.

(For a definition of siblings please see the Milton Keynes Council Information for Parents booklet.)
In the event of oversubscription under any of the criteria at 1 to 6 above, places will be allocated in distance order using the distance between the child’s normal home address and the school’s main entrance, using the shortest appropriate route, measured using the Local Authority’s computerised measuring system with those living closest to the school receiving the higher priority.

In the case of multiple births:

➢ For admission to Key Stage 1, when class sizes are limited to 30, only one child may be admitted. Parents will be advised that they can decide which child can be offered the place or they may seek an alternative school able to admit both (or all) of the children;
➢ For admission to classes other than Key Stage 1, both twins would be admitted (or all siblings in the case of multiple births) even if this goes above the admission number for the school.

There is no automatic right of entry to the school for pupils attending the River Meadow Preschool at Tickford Park Primary School.

If you are applying for an in year admission place at the school please follow the link to Milton Keynes Council below and then follow the in year admission link on the school admission page at Milton Keynes Council

Staff Quote

"The staff here are very approachable, caring and always willing to help. This is a very welcoming place and although in teaching, the workload is colossal, when you request some help, you will find that people are great at collaborating, sign posting and sharing their resources. People genuinely care about each other's welfare, which is refreshing to see in such a large team. It is a lovely place to work."

“Our school is lovely because I have so many friends and you can play with everyone. We always make sure we respect each other and we can always show who we really are.”

Henry J – Jet class

“Computing is great because in our lessons we get to have time to learn more about coding. Now, I can code in free-style and make mini games and characters move. We also get to do maths when we can compete in battles on TT Rockstars on the computer. Computing is my favourite lesson and is always fun.”

Ethan – Topaz class
